The name Amber Glow was decided on in memory of my first Aussie, Mahoganie Rose. When the light hit her just right,
those Amber eyes would glow as if they were lit from the inside.

In 1987, I got my first Australian Shepherd-Mahoganie. I didn't know much about them-in fact had only seen a blue
merle puppy some years before. But when I saw the add in the paper, I decided to check it out. I picked my red
beauty and fell in love with the breed. Such intelligence. So fast and agile. What a temperment. And
soo uniquely beautiful!!!!
Mahoganie left for the Rainbow Bridge in October 2001. The following March, I got a new puppy that we
named Feather. She was and is positively adorable but with her unusual coloring, the decision was to spay her.
Since I really wanted to start breeding, I looked for another. PJ came to us in Aug. 2002 and my stud,
from one of my favorite lines, in Sept. Talk about a handful....3 Aussie pups under the age of 9 months!!!!!
And they all have amber eyes.
